It's Christmas time!!

Dear friends,

How are you?

I can’t believe it but it’s almost Christmas! Eight days to go!!
I always loved the saying that “Christmas isn’t a season but a state of mind!! And it’s so true!!
Somehow everybody seems to be nicer at Christmas, everybody seems to have more compassions for others. We tend to be very generous around this period of the year!!
We are all very kind!! It’s like there are more nice people around!!

Well I wish this state of mind could stay with everybody for the all year around!! Can you imagine how wonderful it would be to see everybody so happy and nice everyday?

I have to say that somehow I’m lucky that I have in my life so many wonderful people: a wonderful family, many wonderful friends and incredible supportive and loving fans.
It’s like I keep meeting nice people, everyday and everywhere I go.

My grandfather Ruggero, a very savior man, used to say to me to treat people the same way I would like be treated!! So I’m always try to be kind and sincere with others, to bring joy and smile to their faces…and I must say that grandpa was right… I get back the same kindness and much more than that back!!

They say love is like a boomerang: you give it to someone and it comes back right at you!!

I have included in this blog a picture of me into a box….I still remember that day…it was the day after Christmas and I had asked mom to make a present out of me for dad that was coming home from his night shift at the Police Head Quarter in Venice.
I cried because mom didn’t want to close the box and wrapped it with paper!!
We left the box open and dad was very happy to receive me as a present anyway!!

I want to wish you love and happiness for this Christmas that comes and I’m looking forward to see you all soon,
And remember love is worthier than money!!

Buon Natale a tutti,
Love,
Giada

The Place Where I'm From

Dear readers,

Welcome to my blog and to my first blog post. My name is Giada Valenti and I was born in Portogruaro, a city near Venice. I'm a professional singer and songwriter, and after having lived and worked in Holland for a few years and in London, I have now a second home in NYC!!
I'm a made in Italy exported to America. The question is how much of Portogruaro/Venice is still with me?
Let me introduce you to the place where I'm from: Venice (Italian: Venezia) is a city in northern Italy, the capital of the region Veneto.

The city historically was an independent nation. Venice has been known as the "La Dominante", "Serenissima", "Queen of the Adriatic", "City of Water", "City of Bridges", and "The City of Light". Luigi Barzini, of the The New York Times, described it as "undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man". Venice has also been described as being one of Europe's most romantic cities.
Here it’s something I have inherited from my Venice: I'm a romantic person and my music is all about romance and love!!

The city of Venice stretches across 118 small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic Sea in northeast Italy. The saltwater lagoon stretches along the shoreline between the mouths of the Po(south) and the Piave (north) Rivers.

The Republic of Venice was a major maritime power during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, as well as a very important center of commerce (especially silk, grain and spice trade) .Venice is also famous for its musical, particularly operatic, history, and its most famous son in this field is Antonio Vivaldi.

Here we go another thing I have inherited from my Venice: my love for music.
Music is my life!!
I grew up surrounded by beautiful music and romantic scenery and those are still the basic of my life!! My DNA is music and romance!!
Benvenuti nel mio blog: you will find here every week stories related to my life in Italy and my life as an Italian in NYC, my music adventures all over the world. I will take you back stage at my shows to meet my team and my musicians, you will hear all about the challenges and the joy of being an entertainer, you will hear about the wonderful people I get to meet, the wonderful places I get to see. And I will share with you my favorites places in Italy and the USA, recipes of my favorites food and I will take you to my favorites restaurants, hotel and bar in Italy, in NYC and the world.
I’m Giada Valenti an Italian woman with an 100% Italian DNA who loves music, romance and to travel the world!! Welcome on board!!

Love,
Giada
